Obituary

Angie was born in Humboldt, SK, on January 15th, 1940, during a raging blizzard, the 7th of 16 children, to Clemens and Antoinnetta (Bader) Kuemper. She grew up on the family farm in the Muenster district and attended Golden Rule School, where she enjoyed playing sports, singing, and academics. Although she did not finish high school, she obtained her GED in 1982, something she was very proud of. As a young woman, Angie was employed at Brusers Limited and OK Economy in Humboldt, SK. On June 12, 1962, she married Ivan Dale, at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Muenster, SK, and moved to the Dale farm near Carmel, SK, where together they raised six children and ran a mixed farming operation. Throughout their marriage, Angie accompanied Ivan to countless dances and other musical events, and she often designed the band posters and signs. She was dedicated to serving her parish and community, serving as a CWL member, Communion minister, reader, choir member and church decorator. She also contributed by working at the Carmel Bazaar, Mount Carmel Pilgrimage, and many other local events. Angie had a competitive spirit and enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards, and board games. Angie also enjoyed growing and arranging flowers, gardening, combining, berry picking, winemaking, and crafts. She was enthusiastic about holidays and especially loved Halloween. She was resourceful in creating unique costumes and loved it when people were not able to recognize her. In 2010, Angie and Ivan retired from farming, and moved to their home in Humboldt, SK. Angie remained active in community events and bowling. She seldom got to travel, but fondly recalled trips to visit family in Terrace, Abbotsford, and Port Alberni, BC. Some of Angie’s greatest joys came from the moments spent with her family, friends and neighbours. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she enjoyed spoiling them with “special treats” whenever they came to visit. “The best things in life are the people we love…the places we’ve been, and the memories we’ve made along the way.”

Angie will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, IVAN; their children: ROSANNE (Larry) Thiel of Humboldt, SK and family: Addison (Adrienne) Thiel of St. Louis, MO, Ebony (Grant) Heffernan of Calgary, AB (son: MacAllister); GLENNA (Brian) Lins of Saskatoon, SK and family: Brittney Lins (Mark Hackett) of Perth, WA, Blake Lins of Saskatoon, SK; SANDRA (Darrell) Athmer of Engelfeld, SK and family: Kristin Ochitwa of Humboldt, SK (children: Brielle and Lincoln), Bryton Athmer (Madison Steinke) of Saskatoon, SK, Shailynn Athmer (Shadow Reddekopp) of Warman, SK, Taevan Athmer of Engelfeld, SK; DARREN (Wendy) Dale and family, all of Saskatoon, SK: Anthony (Alison) Dale (children: Leon, Isla, Emmett and Elliot), Tolysha (David) Sapp (children: Sawyer, Boston, Axel and Maren), Donovan (Charissa) Dale (children: Evie, Linus and Henry), Fabian (Nakia) Dale, Julian Dale (Kendal Geier), Emmarae Dale; RAINA (Chris) Dauvin of Saskatoon, SK; CRAIG (Tamara) Dale of Regina, SK (children: Avery and Josie); her sisters and brothers: Irene Sarauer, Alice Nordick, Loreen Faul, Rosemarie (Ron) Muggli, Leonard (Shirley) Kuemper, Virginia (Robert) Kaese, Gloria (Ernie) Kuehne, Roger (Clara) Kuemper and Kara Kuemper; sisters-in-law: Kay Kuemper, Verna Kuemper, Diane Kuemper, Valerie Milne, and Dolores Dale, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
