Grace, the fifth eldest in a family of 18, was born to Anthony and Mary (nee Albers) Stroeder on December 6, 1941, in Humboldt. She was 79 years of age. She grew up on the family farm and attended Marysburg School. Grace was blessed with four sons: Brad, Russell and Murray Wittke, and Wayne Bautz. She was a stay-at-home Mom. However, she also worked in the hospitality industry most of her life until her health no longer allowed her to do what she loved, which was to serve and talk with people. Grace loved playing cards, doing puzzles and crafts and, especially, coloring pictures with her grandchildren which she did even during her last stay in the hospital. She also loved her flowers and feeding birds in her backyard. Grace enjoyed going for Thursday coffee every week with her friends and driving around town day or night. One of her favorite things to do was cook and bake. No matter what, she always made sure she had her friends and family’s favorite goodies made for whenever they came for a visit. If it wasn’t on the counter, she would go to the deepfreeze where there was always more. Grace was very proud of her sons and everything they have accomplished. When asked “didn’t you wish you had a girl?” Grace was always quick to reply: “Why? I have my boys.” She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and, most recently, two great-granddaughters. Grace loved to dress up for Halloween and Easter and play St. Nick to make her kids and grandkids laugh. She loved to play pranks on anyone to get a chuckle and a smile on their face.

Grace is survived by her four sons, ten grandchildren, and two great- grandchildren: Brad (Donna) Wittke and family, Justin Wittke, Kara (Blair) Farthing, and Alyssa Wittke; Russell (Kelly) Wittke and family: Jordan (Kelsey) Wittke and daughter Raya, Taylor (Ryley) Fraser and daughter Brielle; Murray (Cindy) Wittke and family: Payton Wittke (Brendan), and Kamryn Wittke; and Wayne (Beth) Bautz and family: Rylan, Makenna, and Layla Bautz; four sisters: Ann Zelle, Ruth (Benno) Barlage, Karen Ferguson, and (Godchild) Judy (Paul) Ulrich; three brothers: Anthony Jr. (Sandy) Stroeder, Ken Stroeder, and Kevin (Allyson) Stroeder; sisters- in-law: Josephine Stroeder, and Janet Stroeder; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Mary (nee Albers) Stroeder; seven sisters: Marie and Elizabeth (in infancy), Virginia Thimm, Marina Stroeder, Nettie Stroeder, Mary Lamping, and Millie Hofmann; three brothers: Randy Stroeder, Melvin Stroeder, and Bob Stroeder; five brothers-in-law: Roger Zelle, Arnie Thimm, Art Lamping, Cam Ferguson, and Ray Hofmann; nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren: Landon, Logan, and Amara Wittke.
