Obituary

Jerome Joseph James Dauk was born November 9, 1947, to Martin and Catherine (née Hagerty) Dauk and was raised in Annaheim Saskatchewan. He grew up on the family farm with his brothers, where they grew grain and had a variety of animals. After attending school, Jerome went on to the University of Saskatchewan where he studied to become a teacher. He and Coleen Sullivan married in 1970 and had 4 children, Laurie, Melanie, Beth, and Ross. Jerome spent most of his life in Annaheim, where he and Coleen enjoyed creating their large and beautiful garden. Jerome taught school for 36 years. He became principal in 1996 and retired in 2006. Jerome had a passion for helping people and a love of learning his whole life. He was also drawn to farming for his whole life and after retiring from teaching continued to pick rocks and drive tractor whenever he could. Besides gardening, farming, and teaching, Jerome enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching sports and his favorites were baseball and hockey. He also loved fishing and swimming in the lake and summers were spent at Green Lake and other areas in Northern Saskatchewan. Though Jerome was always happy digging in his garden with Coleen, he also traveled the Rockies and BC quite often, as well as joined family and friends on vacations farther away. Through his travels he also became an accomplished scuba diver. Jerome will be deeply missed by: his wife of 54 years, Coleen; his children: Laurie (Michael); their children Maya and Ping; Melanie; Beth (Earl); and Ross (Katrina); brothers: Peter (Valerie), Murray (Ruby), and Gerald (Yunet); his sister-in-law Linda; Coleen’s siblings: Kelly (Doris), Walter (Linda), Ethel (Jerry), Mary K (Ralph), Mark (Bonnie), and Christine; and numerous nieces and nephews, and their families. He is predeceased by: his brothers: James and Ralph; sister-in-law Patricia; and Coleen’s brothers: Charlie and Fred.
