Joyce was born to Leslie and Myrtle (nee Finlayson) Clark at Watson, SK. The early years of her childhood were spent on the family farm near Wimmer, SK. Joyce was 10 years old when the family moved to a farm west of Naicam. Following her education at Naicam School, she was employed as a telephone operator. On October 17, 1950, Joyce married Melvin Amundson. Their union was blessed with four children; twins Valerie and Janice, Shelley, and Leslie. Joyce was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served in many capacities and committees there. She was known for the beautiful Thanksgiving displays she created for the church. Joyce enjoyed gardening, and spent many pleasant hours tending to her flowers. As well, she and Melvin loved to square dance. Marean Lake was a favorite destination, and they spent 17 summers there. Joyce and Melvin farmed together until 1990 but continued to live on the farm until 2016 when they moved to Saskatoon. In July 2019, another move was made to Diamond House Care Home in Warman. Joyce’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 70 years, MELVIN Amundson; their four children, nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren: Valerie Weseen and family, Jasmine (Kevin Brawn) and children Anaka and William, and Jillian (Tony Okwiri) and children Anabel and Astrid; Janice (Lyle Brenna) and family, Erika (Taylor Chomiak) and children Osa, Ty and Nadya, and Britni (Brett Campbell); Shelley (Barry Archibald) and family, Kerri (Cam Koski) and children Brinkley and Gia, Courtney (Dane Bachiu) and children Boh and Jovi, and Stacey (Cole Simpson) and children Kinley, Rori and Kane; and Leslie (Debbie Brenna) and family, Kristofor, and Sara (Cailean Duke). She was predeceased by her son- in-law, Wade Weseen; parents, Leslie and Myrtle (nee Finlayson) Clark; sister, Enid O’Flanagan; and by numerous brothers-and-sisters-in-law.
