Obituary
Kevin was born on June 7, 1969, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Brian and Vina Robinson and grew up in Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Land Use and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He began cross-country skiing as a child and marathon canoe racing as a teenager. He particularly enjoyed racing in more technical conditions, such as icy ski tracks or shallow waters. Being “wiry,” he could use his good technique, tactical skills and excellent balance to his advantage. Skiing and paddling were lifelong passions. He felt incredibly fortunate to spend his adult life sharing his love of outdoor sports through Eb’s. He built a team of people who are as passionate about the outdoors, his Eb’s family. He believed work should be fun and it was. Kevin married Cathy in 1999. Their favorite times together were spent canoe tripping on the Churchill River system, skiing at Silver Star, and exploring (always near the water) wherever they traveled. They shared their lives with 4-legged family members, most recently two border collies, Cerchi and Rumble. Kevin’s quick reflexes helped him to run with Rumble at agility classes and produced some hilarious videos. Kevin laughed often and his loud, distinctive laugh was contagious. His quick wit, good-natured teasing and mischievous grin were (usually) well-loved. While Kevin was sad to miss out on planned adventures, he reflected on a life filled with “cool things,” skiing in Europe, hiking in the Athabasca sand dunes, paddling the Nahanni River, canoe racing at Nationals, and eating fabulous food in amazing locales with interesting people on business retreats. Kevin died February 24, 2023, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cathy; mother Vina; brother and sister-in-law, Trevor and Paula; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rob and Gail; nephews: Tyler (Whitney), Jon, and Jared; niece Shayla; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Brian, and parents-in-law, Bob and Joan.
