Louise was born at home in the Annaheim district, SK, to her parents Henry and Thekla Bley (née Kunz) on Friday, April 8, 1934. She was one of four children and attended Harvest School until grade 10. In the years before her marriage, Louise worked in Humboldt as a receptionist at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and as a cashier in Gassor’s Drug Store. On October 13, 1958, Louise married Gene Komonoski in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Annaheim and the couple moved to a farm by St. Gregor, SK. During her married life, Louise made her house a home, helping to run the family farm, raising her children, and taking part in her community. She was an active CWL member, and always ready to lend a hand in the St. Gregor area until she moved to Humboldt in 2003. At this time, she began to volunteer with Gene at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. In 2018, Louise became a resident at St. Mary’s Villa. Over the years, Louise enjoyed many varied interests and pastimes which included bowling, photography, porcelain dolls, gardening, flowers, and camping with her grandkids. She was also an avid sports fan and she ‘kept up with the latest’ in curling, baseball, hockey, and football. Her family brought her so much joy and she loved them all deeply. Many fond memories were made on the trip to Disneyland with the entire family, the many lake outings, and the moments spent celebrating the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Gene; their four children; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren: Bonnie Lee (Glen) Gerwing, Katelyn (Brad), and Kelsey (Corey); Terri (Gerard) Doepker, Jordan (Robert), Brady and Brooks, and Branden; Korry (Pam) Komonoski, Megan (Kian) and Theo, Austin (Yasmeen) and Luke; and Darren (Sam) Komonoski and Quinn; her sister Doreen (John) Urbanski of Portland, Oregon; her brother Willie (Celine) Bley, of Humboldt, SK; sisters-in-law Annette Bley, and Marge Komonoski; her brothers-in- law: John (Eleanor) Komonoski, and Paul (Darlene) Komonoski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louise is predeceased by her parents Thekla (née Kunz) and Henry Bley; her brother Harold Bley; mother and father-in-law Pete and Katherine Komonoski; brothers-in-law Orest Komonoski, and Morris Komonoski; and sister-in-law Dianne Komonoski.
