Obituary

We are very sad to announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, and Great-grandmother Maureen on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Humboldt District Hospital. Maureen was born January 23, 1934, in Leeds, England. She married her husband Fred in 1956, and they had two children, Steven and Michael. The family emigrated to Canada in 1964 to start a new life. They lived in Saskatoon most of their lives. Maureen worked at St. Ann’s Nursing Home for over 30 years. When she retired, Maureen and Fred moved to Victoria (Saanichton), British Columbia, where sadly Fred (Dad) passed away shortly after their move. But Maureen stayed for quite a few more years and met many good friends in her “Modular Home “park. Her decision to move back to Saskatchewan to be closer to the grandkids and great grandkids, brought her to Humboldt. She was an amazing person. For most people, she was always that “cute little English lady with the cute accent”, but to us she was Mom and Grandma P. She is survived by her son Steve (Adele) Patton of Annaheim, SK, and family: Kacey (Trevor) Payne, Abygale and Ethan of Moose Jaw, SK; Bailie (Spencer) Knowles, Maeve, Dominic, Flora, and Elia of Saskatoon, SK; Elliott (Bryanna) Patton, Jayke, Luuk, Kipp, and Makkoy of Stirling, Alberta; and Molli (Brodie) Kunz and Colt of Annaheim, SK; and her son Michael (Fran) Patton of Saskatoon, SK, and family: Juliana and Cole Nordby and Alex Nordby, and Mitchell, Eric, and Paul, and great-granddaughter Teisha of Saskatoon, SK; sister Ursula and Paddy and their children Martin and Emma and family, and John and Vanessa and family, all of Leeds, England; and Victor Patton and Peggy Gamsby; and Julie Spaven. We love you Mom! A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at Briarwood Community Centre, (602 Briarwood Road, Saskatoon, SK), on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and share in Maureen’s life.
