Obituary

Rose was born on August 29, 1925, to John and Veronica (nee Winkel) Bernauer at Willmont, SK. She grew up on the family farm and attended Keller School. On November 6, 1945, Rose married Leonard Langenhoff at Willmont. Rose and Leonard began their life together on the farm in the Fulda district. Four children, three daughters and one son, were born to them. In 1982, they moved into Humboldt. Over the years Rose pursued a variety of hobbies and interests, including gardening, fishing, rug making, quilting, and baking. She was an enthusiastic quilter and made several quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and some to give away for wedding gifts. Rose loved to make Christmas cookies for her family and they became known as “Grama Cookies”. Travelling with family was another favorite pastime; she enjoyed taking trips throughout Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the United States (including Hawaii). Her last voyage was at the age of 92 to Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, where she dipped her foot in the Arctic Ocean and saw the midnight sun. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of the CWL for over 50 years at both St. Joseph’s Parish, Fulda, and St. Augustine Parish, Humboldt.

Rose will be lovingly remembered by three children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren: daughter, Bernadette (Larry) Hermann and family, daughter Vicki (Robert) Rogers and their children Brendan and Emily; son- in-law, Gordon Lemmerich (Rosa Espinoza) and family, Laurie (Robert) Weiman and their children Nathan and Olivia, David (Sarah) Lemmerich and their son Grant, Gary (Cathy) Lemmerich and their children Nicole and Matthew, Kevin Lemmerich (special friend Adrianna Wormworth), and Karen Lemmerich; Sharon (David) Siba and family, Shannon (nee Fast) (Kurt) Harriman and their children Tanner and Eden, Christine (nee Fast) (Clyde) Feero, and Erin Siba Fast (special friend Justin Coish); and Gerald Langenhoff (special friend Cerila Morastil) and daughter Sarah (Graham) Baxter and their children Theodore and Simon; three brothers: Alois Bernauer (Joyce Stephan), Arnold (Frances) Bernauer, and Marcellus (Roszita) Bernauer; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Langenhoff (September 8, 1995); a daughter, Adele Lemmerich (February 19, 2003); parents, John and Veronica (nee Winkel) Bernauer; grandparents, Margaret (Dietrich) Winkel and Matthias Winkel, and Gertrude (Aleck) Bernauer, and Jacob Bernauer; four brothers: John and (Betty nee Wegleitner) Bernauer, Wilfred (Helen nee Berting) Bernauer, Joseph (Lorraine nee Koberinski) Bernauer, and Norbert (Phyllis nee Bender) Bernauer; three sisters: Margaret (Theodore) Ilg, Gertrude (Robert) Hebig, and Elizabeth (Anthony) Theissing; and by sister-in-law, Agnes (nee Freriks) Bernauer.
