Roy Ferdinand Sluchinski passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the age of 75, with a very close friend at his side in the Humboldt District Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. As per his wishes, Roy was cremated. A private service and burial was held at the St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery on Friday, March 26, 2021 where he was buried alongside his Mom and Dad. Roy was born in Humboldt on Wednesday, March 13, 1946, to Tony and Mary (née Hebig) Sluchinski. The family resided in Peterson, SK where his father worked at the local garage and his mother was a homemaker. In 1957, the family moved to Humboldt, where Roy completed high school and graduated in 1964. After high school, Roy started work at OK Economy where he would continue being employed until 1999.  Following this, he worked part-time for the local School District for the next 23 years and some other part- time employment until his death. His interests included working on old cars, going to Middle Lake, SK, fishing and boating, gardening, computers, and golfing. Roy also had a great Christian faith and we know he now rests in the arms of the Lord forever. Roy will be remembered for his love of family and friends, especially his niece Natalie, who loved her Uncle Roy quite devotedly from the time when she was a young child. His kind heart, gentle spirit, and infectious laugh will stay with us forever. Roy is survived by his brother, Garry (Monika) Sluchinski, and their daughter Natalie; his sister-in-law Marge Sluchinski and her children: Debbie (daughters Danielle and Amber), Gordon (son Jordan), and Doug (daughter Aaron); as well as good friends: Garry Jenkins, Ken and Doreen Matalski, Tony Schneider, and Milt Madsen. He was predeceased by his parents Tony and Mary, and older brother Werner. We would like to thank all the medical staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and at Humboldt Hospital who helped Roy.

A special thank you to Kirby Wassermann, at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, for helping us honor Roy’s wishes in death.
