Obituary

Wilfred Casper Herman Theissing was born July 28, 1945, in the Willmont District to Casper and Helen (née Niebrugge) Theissing. Wilfred attended Keller School from grades one through eight. Wilfred met the love of his life, Lillian Weiman, at a wedding in Bruno. They were married July 11, 1970, and celebrated 51 years of marriage. Wilfred worked a couple of short term jobs in an elevator and in construction before beginning his career as a mechanic. He was employed at Schlosser’s Garage in Bruno for 36 years when the shop closed. He then went on to drive school bus in Bruno until he began employment with the Town of Bruno where he worked for 5 years until his retirement. Wilfred, Lillian, and their children loved to camp at Wakaw and Lucien Lakes during the summer months, and travel to different places in the United States, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, visiting family and friends. Wilfred and Lillian loved attending nearby auction and garage sales. Wilfred loved to play any type of card game and to build jigsaw puzzles; he was an avid bowler and had many trophies to show for it! Going for coffee, and visiting family and friends, whether they were in their home, hospital or care home, were priorities for Wilfred and Lillian. They always made sure to make time for everyone. Wilfred had a strong faith and was a parishioner of St Bruno Parish where he ushered many masses. Wilfred enjoyed all sports whether watching live or on television. His greatest pride and joy were his daughters and grandchildren. He was always there to support them whether it was dance, hockey or bowling, they could always count on him to be their #1 fan! Wilfred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Lillian (née Weiman) Theissing; his daughters: Wanda (Bob) Manderscheid and their children, Hailey and Dylan, and Wendy (Bruce) Waldbillig and their children, Kayla and Cole. Wilfred is also survived by his sisters-in- law, Anita Androsoff, and Colleen McCrea; brothers-in-law, Werner, Glen, and Donald Weiman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre- deceased by his parents, Casper and Helen (née Niebrugge) Theissing; sister Lorraine Suer; brother Alvin Theissing; niece Karen (Suer) Willis; nephew Daryl Donahue; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Annie (née Nett) Weiman; sister-in-law Doreen Theissing; and brothers-in-law: Herman Suer, Allan, Dennis, Wayne and Brent Weiman, and Walter Androsoff.
